Who can learn with Latogo?

All the learners across the world over age 13 can enrol to our online german language courses. The topics we teach focus on real life situations of young adults up to 30 years.

German language is becoming the most popular language across the world. It is being most used in Europe right after English. Just imagine how thrilling it would be to learn such a widely spoken language. 

German universities have programs for international students whereas a degree from German university is recognized worldwide. Learning German language leads to higher scope of getting a job in a foreign land or even an international travel opportunity you might not want to miss. So, if you are someone always keen on learning German language, look no further.

Is it difficult to learn German?

The famously tricky grammar and the overall language is said to be difficult. But to be honest you will have fun while learning the language. This platform will give you the right way to learn the language more intuitively. 

You must have heard about the notoriously tough words like-

 “Rindfleischetikettierungsüberwachungsaufgabenübertragungsgesetz” - the now-retired word for “Cattle marking and beef labeling supervision duties delegation law”

- or about these letters “ä, ü, ö”

- or also the weird sounds of “ch” or “sch”

German and English share the same origin as 30% of the vocabulary is still quite similar to English. Our teachers will show you the similarities to help you remember and use the words in the right context.

When will I learn to speak German?

What are the CEFR levels?

CEFR stands for Common European Framework of References for Languages. You will hear often about this when you learn foreign language. It is an international standard that describes your ability of a language within six levels: A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2 right from the basic level to the proficient level.

Once you sign up for a Latogo Account, we will assess your language proficiency within 20 minutes of a trial class and determine the right class package according to your needs and goals.

What courses does Latogo offer?

Latogo boasts over a hundred courses on a variety of topics that matter you. The courses are taught focusing on real life situations of young adults, from a general understanding of the common things like travel, food, hanging out, and many special activities and about cultures. Currently, we offer courses for beginner and advanced level learners (A1 - B2), but we are working hard to provide expert level courses soon.

My child is under 16 years age. Can she/he learn German with Latogo?

Definitely. We welcome all young learners over 13 years of age. For more details about “How do we protect children?” read chapter 10 of our Privacy Policy.

Can my child attend class without enabling video/audio?

Interactive communication is the core objective of our Latogo live classes. It goes without saying that a conversation requires at least two parties.
We encourage learners to put on their video during the class. It helps us create a more social experience for all the learners, but it is not necessary to turn on the video or audio while attending the class.

What do I need to use Latogo?

Learning with us is very simple. You do not need to install any software to use Latogo on your laptop or computer. We have designed the courses in such a way that it runs on all modern computers. Just make sure that you are using an updated internet browse, have stable internet connection, and a device with a microphone and a webcam. You need not worry about webcam and microphone because today most laptops, tablets and phones come with a built-in camera and microphone.

How does Latogo handle time zones?

For every user, we calculate the time zone based on their location in account settings. If you need to travel between time zones or there are changes in regional time zone, you can modify the settings manually.

Can I get a certificate for my completed course?

Yes! You can get a certificate for every course you complete on Latogo. It will be sent via email after completion.

Are my kids safe on Latogo?

Who are the teachers?

We screen all our teachers to ensure they are offering a legitimate and quality educational experience. Our native-speaking and qualified teachers have travelled the world, immersed themselves in various cultures, and have deep acumen of speaking different languages. Rather than just conducting all the classes, we offer a review system so that you can share your experiences and learn from each other.

How do online classes work?

After scheduling a class, you will be able to join your virtual classroom 10 minutes before the class starts. The learning material navigates you through new vocabulary, real-life situations, and exercises. You can download the presentation or class notes at the end of the live sessions. Thus we ensure that you are focused on the classes and are not stressed about taking the notes. We do not pressurize students to interact with teachers or other fellow students. So always feel comfortable and have fun speaking German.

Are the lessons available on weekends and evenings?

Of course. We are there for you anytime. Just choose a time that best fits your schedule.

How many students are in a live class?

We take 1:1 private classes as well as in groups of up to 4 students.

How can I book my first live class?

It is very simple. Once you sign up for a free Latogo Account you can choose the class packages. After your payment is approved, the Latogo Credits are displayed on your profile. Just choose the time as per your convenience and start speaking.

Can I use Latogo on multiple devices?

Definitely! To enjoy the best learning experience, we advise using a laptop or a computer for the live classes.

How do I access my Latogo courses?

Once you are logged in with your name and password, your upcoming classes are displayed on your profile. Click on more details on the next class and hit the “Go-to classroom”- button. You can join the session 10 minutes ahead of time. To access the self-study area simply click on the “My Courses” tab and choose the current chapter.

How to check if my microphone and webcam are working?

Before you enter the classroom, your computer system checks your microphone and webcam automatically. This will make sure that everything is set up perfectly to enjoy the class.

What should I opt for private or group online German lessons?

That depends completely on your needs and type of learning. Both types of learning methods have their advantages.

In a private class, you have the chance to suggest your own topics and get individual feedback from the teacher.

On the other side, you will get an interactive learning experience communicating with students from all over the world in group classes. Sounds like more fun, isn’t it?

What is the methodology of teaching?

Keeping in mind the needs and requirements of young adult, we have created a well-rounded course that empowers you to actively use your passively learned words.

On one hand, Latogo provides different types of exercises which make it easier for you understand and learn the new vocabulary and grammar and on the other hand, you can choose different materials (presentations, quizzes, printable books).

What study material will I get?

You can access and download the presentations of your live classes and get notes prepared by your teacher. Also you will get printable vocabulary and grammar books for understanding the fundamental concepts of the language deeply. Additionally, interactive quizzes will enable you to review, strengthen, empower, and focus on the learned content. Attend the quizzes in the “My Courses” section.

Which payment methods does Latogo accept?

We at Latogo adhere to the highest security standards because your data protection is our topmost priority. Here are the payment options we accept:   

Card payment

While purchasing the course via our website, you can do the payment using a credit card. We accept Mastercard, Visa, Discover, and American Express. We also accept certain debit cards (depending on your bank’s settings).

We do not accept payments via Paypal, but we will accept it soon. If that's important to you please let us know why you prefer doing payment using Paypal.

When will I be charged?

Note that registering with Latogo is completely free. We do not charge unless you voluntarily enter your payment details on our payment page to purchase our class packages. We process your order after you pick a package. So you will have to pay in advance for receiving your Latogo Credits.

How can I keep track of my payments and packages?

Is Latogo for free?

Note that registering with Latogo is completely free. You will even get 20 minutes trail for first-time users. You will have full access to the courses once you purchase a class package.

Do you provide a family account?

No. Each member of your family will need an individual account.

I want to cancel a class/ I am late/ I don’t feel well/ my internet does not work… Do I get a refund?

Please note that authorized payments are final. You will not get refunds once the Latogo Credits are purchased.

If you cancel the class in less than 24 hours, it will result in loss of purchased credits, regardless of the circumstances.
You must join the class 10 minutes ahead of the class to count as attended. Attending afterward will result in loss of credit.

What is Latogo’s refund policy?

If you do not attend the class for any reason may it be health, job, technical, personal, or any other, Latogo is not responsible for it. Latogo will not refund the class. It is your responsibility to ensure a stable internet connection and have done the required technical settings such as a microphone or speakers prior session.
But, if problems occur on Latogo’s side until 10 minutes after the start time of the class, you can leave the class and report the class issue (absent teacher /technical error). Inform Latogo about the issue via email within 48 hours and we will refund your Credit accordingly.

How do I unsubscribe from marketing emails?

When you receive an email from us which is not an activity notification (reminder, completion, purchase, etc.), please click on the "Unsubscribe" link at the bottom.

How can I delete my Latogo account?

If you delete your Latogo account, you will not be able recover it in future because the deletion is permanent. 

To delete the account, just send an email to support@latogo.de with the request to delete your account and personal data.
